Toronto (April 14, 2009) – In an effort to champion literacy with one of Canada’s most beloved literary icons, Dancap Productions has partnered with two of Toronto’s preeminent sources for books: the Toronto Public Library and Indigo Books & Music. Dancap will be presenting two brief excerpts from The Charlottetown Festival’s own Anne of Green Gables – The Musical™, one at the Toronto Public Library Lillian H. Smith Branch on Saturday, April 25, 2009, followed by a question and answer session with the cast. The other will take place at Indigo Eaton Centre on Saturday, May 2, 2009, followed by a book signing with L. M. Montgomery’s granddaughter Kate Macdonald Butler.

“Keep Toronto Reading 2009”: Come Celebrate the Book in All its Forms
Presented by the Toronto Public Library, “Keep Toronto Reading 2009” is a month-long showcase of books and culture. As a part of the celebrations, Dancap Productions presents staged excerpts from Anne of Green Gables – The Musical™ followed by a question and answer session with cast members.

A partnership between Indigo Books & Music and Penguin Group (Canada) to help raise literary awareness, fans of the Anne of Green Gables phenomenon are invited to enjoy “An Afternoon with Anne™”. Dancap Productions presents staged excerpts from Anne of Green Gables – The Musical™ followed by an autograph signing session with cast members and Kate Macdonald Butler who will be signing the 100th Anniversary edition of her grandmother’s iconic book Anne of Green Gables.

Anne of Green Gables – The Musical™ will be live on stage at Toronto’s Elgin Theatre from May 7-24, 2009. The performance schedule is as follows: Wednesdays at 2:00pm and 7:30pm; Thursdays at 11:00 am (May 14) or 2:00pm (May 21) and 7:30pm; Fridays at 7:30pm; Saturdays at 2:00pm and 7:30pm; and Sundays at 2:00pm.
