DATES ANNOUNCED FOR
TONY® AWARD-WINNING BEST MUSICAL
DIRECTED BY DES McANUFF
PLAYING Toronto Centre for the Arts
BEGINNING August 21, 2008
Toronto (December 3, 2007) – Dates have been announced for the Toronto engagement of
JERSEY BOYS, playing the Toronto Centre for the Arts, 5040 Yonge Street. The musical will make its
Canadian premiere on Thursday, August 21, 2008 through October 5, 2008.
Directed by two-time Tony® Award winner and Toronto native Des McAnuff, JERSEY BOYS won
four 2006 Tony® Awards including Best Musical and continues to break box office records since opening on Broadway in November 2005. JERSEY BOYS is written by Academy Award-winner
Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, with music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe and
choreography by Sergio Trujillo, another Toronto native.
JERSEY BOYS is the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons: Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio,
Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi. This is the story of how a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side
of the tracks became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time. They wrote their own
songs, invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records worldwide - all before they were thirty.
JERSEY BOYS will be presented in Toronto as part of Dancap Productions Inc.’s inaugural launch. “We are excited to be bringing this smash hit to the Greater Toronto Area,” says Aubrey Dan, president
Dancap Productions Inc. “In fact, our spirits are as high as Frankie Valli’s falsetto!” Tickets will range in
price from $55.00 to $125.00, with select VIP seating starting at $145.00. Preferred rates are available
for groups of 20 or more until February 1, 2008. To purchase and/or to find out more, call the
CAP Centre at 416-644-3665 or 1-866-950-7469 during regular business hours (Monday
to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST) or visit www.dancaptickets.com anytime for details.
“We welcome theatre lovers to indulge in the Dancap experience,” adds Dan, “and just in time for the
holidays, we’ve made it even easier by offering $25, $50 and $100 gift certificates, good for any Dancap
show – including JERSEY BOYS.”
The JERSEY BOYS design and production team comprises Klara Zieglerova (Scenic Design), Jess
Goldstein (Costume Design), Howell Binkley (winner of the 2006 Tony® Award for his Lighting
Design of JERSEY BOYS), Steve Canyon Kennedy (Sound Design), Michael Clark (Projections
Design), Charles LaPointe (Wig and Hair Design), Steve Orich (Orchestrations) and Ron Melrose
(Music Direction, Vocal Arrangements & Incidental Music).
JERSEY BOYS is produced by Dodger Theatricals, Joseph J. Grano, Tamara and Kevin
Kinsella, Pelican Group, with Latitude Link and Rick Steiner.
The Original Broadway Cast Recording of JERSEY BOYS, produced by Bob Gaudio, won the Grammy
Award for Best Musical Show Album. The cast recording is now available on Rhino Records. JERSEY
