Toronto Temperatures Plummet 50° “Cooler”

Toronto (January 29, 2009) – The city of Toronto prepares for the biggest “cool” front it has ever faced. Torontonians will need more than their warmest parkas as fans of the TV show Happy Days gather at the Elgin Theatre dressed as the “King of Cool,” Arthur “The Fonz” Fonzarelli, and/or their favourite Happy Days character. On February 3, 2009 at 6:00pm, Dancap Productions is giving away 50 complimentary tickets to the first performance of Happy Days, A New Musical at the Elgin Theatre, 189 Yonge Street (at Queen) set for that evening at 7:30pm.

One complimentary pair of tickets will be awarded to each of the first 25 fans dressed as The Fonz and/or their favourite Happy Days characters – Joanie, Richie, Potsie, Chachi, Ralph Malph, Mr. or Mrs. C – lined up at the Elgin Theatre starting at 6:00pm.

The Fonz epitomized cool for a generation. His motorcycle, leather jacket and thumbs-up gesture remain as some of television’s most iconic images. Recently voted one of the coolest TV characters by Britain’s RadioTimes.com, Fonzie is the only character to single handedly increase library card memberships by 500% (after stating in an episode “Reading is Cool”), be immortalized through a bronze statue in Milwaukee, and have his famous leather jacket on permanent display at the National Museum of American History in the Smithsonian Institution.
