Toronto (Tuesday, June 30, 2009) – Oh, What A Night it was for Dancap Productions Inc., and the Canadian production of JERSEY BOYS!

 

Last night at the 30^th anniversary Dora Mavor Moore Awards, held in the historic Winter Garden Theatre, Toronto fans honoured JERSEY BOYS with the coveted Audience Choice Award. Director Des McAnuff took home the Outstanding Direction of a Musical Award, and Jeff Madden, who has been portraying Frankie Valli since the Toronto company opened in December 2008, graciously accepted the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male in a Musical.

 

Now in its 11^th month on stage at the Toronto Centre for the Arts, JERSEY BOYS is the story behind the music of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons: Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi. It tells the story of how four blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time. They wrote their own songs, invented their own sound and sold 175 million records worldwide - all before they were 30.
