JERSEY BOYS has a new cast for the Canadian production

Toronto (November 18, 2008) – Today Dancap Productions announces the new cast for the Canadian production of JERSEY BOYS. The new cast includes: Derek Krantz as Bob Gaudio, Jeremy Kushnier continuing in the role of Tommy DeVito, Michael Lomenda as Nick Massi, and Jeff Madden in the role of Frankie Valli, plus Timothy Sell in the role of Gyp DeCarlo and Shawn Wright in the role of Bob Crewe. Performances begin Friday, December 12, 2008 at the Toronto Centre for the Arts (5040 Yonge Street).

The company also comprises: Gabriel Antonacci, Matthew Brown, Matt Cassidy, Jade Elliott, Élodie Gillett, Bryan Hindle, Victoria Lamond, Jenny Lee Stern, Adrian Marchuk, Joe Matheson, Aaron MacKenzie, Lindsay Thomas and Grant Tilly.

In 2006, JERSEY BOYS won four Tony Awards® including Best Musical and a Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album. In addition to Broadway, the show has been heralded by critics and embraced by nearly sold out audiences during extended runs in Chicago, Las Vegas, London, Toronto, plus a National Tour. The show will open soon in Melbourne, Australia. “Dancap is proud to co-produce the Toronto piece of this global phenomenon,” adds Dan.

JERSEY BOYS is the story of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons: Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi. It tells the tale of how a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time. They wrote their own songs, invented their own sound and sold 175 million records worldwide - all before they were 30.

Directed by two-time Tony Award® winner and Toronto native Des McAnuff, JERSEY BOYS is written by Academy Award winner Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, with music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe and choreography by Sergio Trujillo, another Toronto native.

The JERSEY BOYS design and production team comprises Klara Zieglerova (Scenic Design), Jess Goldstein (Costume Design), Howell Binkley (winner of the 2006 Tony Award® for his Lighting Design of JERSEY BOYS), Steve Canyon Kennedy (Sound Design), Michael Clark (Projections Design), Charles LaPointe (Wig and Hair Design), Steve Orich (Orchestrations) and Ron Melrose (Music Direction, Vocal Arrangements & Incidental Music).
